Prepaid Card Rewards Program

Why is it called a Prepaid card instead of a Debit card?

The card is not connected to a checking account so it is considered a reloadable prepaid card.  You can use the card similar to a debit card with the major difference being you currently can not fund the card with direct deposit or ACH transfers.

How do Prepaid  Card Rewards Work?

When you make a purchase with the StormX card you earn cashback.  You will see pending cashback applied to your transaction when the transaction is settled, usually within 48 hours.  Your total pending rewards can be found on the card tab

How much do I earn when I make a purchase?

Cashback rewards are based on the merchant and membership levels.  There are specific rewards payouts for Amazon, all other eligible purchases receive Base cashback rewards.  NOTE there is a $2,500 rolling 30 day(based on settlement date) rewards cap bon Base cashback.  Amazon Cashback has a  $250 rolling 30 day window limit 

We may also make additional rewards available at partner merchants. These partner reward offers will be shown in the app. 

Are there any purchases that don’t earn rewards? 

Gambling, lottery, investment and cash or cashlike transactions such as prepaid cards or peer to peer money movement and Paypal and Cashapp do NOT earn rewards.  

How do you determine my Membership Level?

A debit card user’s membership level is determined by the sum of their connected Rewards Wallet.  A connected Rewards Wallet is a 3rd party wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, etc. that a user connects to their StormX account via the StormX mobile app.  

When are my rewards paid?

Any pending rewards that are at least 30 days old are paid out on the 22th of the month.  When a transaction that is eligible for rewards is settled we put the dollar value of the reward into a pending reward bucket.  When the rewards are paid out, that dollar value of pending rewards is converted to StormX tokens at the current market price  and loaded directly to your debit card, making it easy to access the rewards you earned.  You can also withdraw the rewards to a wallet but there is a $10 minimum.  

Example 

15 January $150 purchase made for base rate member (1% reward) 

17 January $150 purchase settled and $1.50 is added to pending rewards total

22 March $1.50 of pending rewards is used to purchase StormX tokens at the current market price and the tokens are loaded to the StormX prepaid card.   

What happens if I return an item?

Returned items or refunds will result in the refund amount being deducted from your pending rewards.

PAL Card Minnesota is a vendor that works with StormX to provide phone customer support for the debit card to handle transaction disputes, reporting of lost cards and basic customer service tasks for the debit card such as a lost/stolen card.  They do NOT handle rewards issues or items related to other StormX products.
